I loved reading bedtime stories to my children when they were young, a very favourite book was The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The story tells of a small caterpillar emerging from an egg and begins eating everything in sight.
Finally, it is no longer hungry and no longer small.
The big, fat caterpillar builds a cocoon around himself and finally emerges as a beautiful butterfly.
Dry skin needs to lavish on healthy foods just like our caterpillar! or it may impact your daily life like it did for me. I realised at some point that my dry tight feeling skin needed a 'time out' a Cocoon.
For many years I had relatively good skin with little concern about suppleness, dryness and the feeling of tightness although I soaked my face with pure Shea butter from Ghana.
I noticed that despite daily moisturizing, my skin still felt tight and dry. I would often top up during the day spoiling my immaculately placed makeup and ending up with greasy looking skin.
Not pleasant when most of my business meetings were virtual.
My newly found interest in house plant introduces me to the healing and therapeutic properties of Aloe Vera.
